This site documents attacks on the energy supply of a country at war. That is a situation in which reliable information is scarce and false information is plentiful. What that means for how much weight the content can carry is set out here.
No warranty of accuracy or completeness
The content comes from publicly accessible sources and is collected and checked to the best of our knowledge. No warranty is given for accuracy, completeness or timeliness. If an incident is missing, that does not mean it did not happen. It only means that we have no reliable source for it.
Sources from a war zone
A considerable share of the information on incidents in the war zone comes from sources close to a party to the conflict: operators, ministries, authorities and media on both sides. We cannot verify such information independently. We label it, we place contradicting accounts side by side, and we do not rewrite what we cannot substantiate. We cannot rule out that individual statements were spread by one side for propaganda purposes.
Locations and their precision
Every location carries a stated precision level. A dot on the map is not automatically a coordinate. Where a coarser level is stated, the dot is only the reference point of the administrative unit and not the site of the incident.
- Exact: the facility itself is named and located.
- Settlement: the place is named, the facility is not.
- Raion: only the district is known.
- Oblast: only the region is known.
- Undisclosed: the location was deliberately withheld, usually on the instruction of the authorities.
Not advice
The content is documentation and context. It is not investment advice, not legal advice and not security advice. It is not a basis for decisions about staying, travelling or protective measures. Anyone in danger should follow the official warnings on the ground, not this site.
Third-party content and links
This site links to third-party pages whose content we do not control. Under Section 8 DDG we are not responsible for third-party content as long as we have no knowledge of an unlawful act or information. No legal violations were apparent at the time of linking. Permanent monitoring of linked pages is not reasonable without a concrete indication. If we become aware of legal violations, we remove the link immediately.
Found a mistake
If something here is wrong, we want to know and we will correct it. Every change to a published record is recorded with a date and a reason, so it stays traceable what was changed when. Please give the case reference of the record and, if possible, a source.
